Two months

Emma was two months old on Saturday. Today, my mom and I took her to get her picture taken. We went to Portrait Innovations and they were great - there was someone who's job was just to make Emma smile and laugh and she was great at it. And you got your pictures that day, in only 15 minutes. I just want to point out that finally, Emma has something that looks like me - her eyes. When I smile, my eyes tend to disappear. In this picture Emma was laughing and look - her eyes are disappearing like mine! Guess she isn't completely her dad after all. :)

On Saturday, I took some here at home.

Let's see, what's been going on with Emma in the last week and a half...Well Michael was gone last week so we kept busy. We stayed at my mom's for a few days, she came here, we saw my Aunt Dorothy, ran errands, had her picture taken with the Easter Bunny, had lunch with Michael's parents...all in all, a very busy week! Before we knew it, Michael was home. Here are some pictures from last week:

Here's the bunny picture. She wouldn't open her eyes though. Rachel sat with her for a second picture and in that one, she had her hands on her face!

Last night she slept in her crib - without the bouncy seat! She slept for 8 hours, didn't really fuss at all when I put her down. Woo hoo! One day last week I looked at her and noticed her eyelashes. It was like I hadn't seen them before, they're quite long and dark. Of course, her Dad's eyelashes. Better his than mine though! And yesterday it was like she saw her hand for the first time. She held it up in front of her face and was just staring at it. She's awake for much longer periods of time, just looking around, smiling and laughing. She loves her playmat and mobile.

Nothing better

There's nothing better than a baby right after a bath. All clean and smelling that good baby smell. Here's Emma after her bath on Thursday:

What she's doing now

Emma has started doing two new things. She sucks in her upper lip with her tongue, makiing this loud "smack" sound. And when I was videotaping her doing this on Monday night - well, trying to get it on tape - she was following me with her eyes and head. First time she'd done that, I was pretty excited I caught it on tape. I didn't get the lip smacking on tape until later that night. About 12:30 AM, laying on the changing table, happy as can be and sooo not tired! What time did we go to bed? Oh, about 1:45! And last night? 3AM!! Tonight's better though, she fell asleep in her swing at 9:30. Woo hoo!

Back to the eye movement. Of course, I sounded like a moron saying something like "Emma! You followed me! That's so cool!" As I later watch what we tape, I realize how stupid I sound most of the time. And Michael too. Neither of us can escape it - the baby talk, high pitch voices, and just generally stupid comments. Of course I don't feel stupid when I'm saying it, just when I play it back. Oh well, I guess she'll know her parents were major dorks when she gets older. :)

On to the pictures.

I sat Emma up on the couch Tuesday and got these super cute pictures:

And then took some more cute pictures while she was on her playmat.

Obviously, I think she's cute.

Look who's laughing

So, Saturday March 25th, our friends Stefanie and Bryan brought their daughter Julia (who's 11 months old) over. Of course, this meant I had to try and get pictures of Julia and Emma together. We got them on the couch together and right as I went to take a picture, Julia reached over to touch Emma. So Stefanie grabbed her hand, Julia laughed and then so did Emma! I tried again, Julia reached, Stef grabbed, they both laughed. It was too cute!

And here is a great picture of Julia trying out Emma's exersaucer, isn't she adorable?!

Sporty, isn't she?

So how cute is Emma in this yellow sweatsuit. Adorable! And she even has a matching binky! This is what she wore this past Friday on yet another trip to the mall.

These pictures were taken yesterday. She just loves laying on her play mat and watching the star. The star plays music and lights up and she watches it and laughs. She'll stick out her tongue, kicks her arms and legs around. Michael and I lay next to her sometimes just to watch her, to be close to her. She's so amazing!

Later on, Emma fell asleep on Michael's legs in the funniest pose. Michael decided to try it out too.

She soon reverted to her stand-by - arms up!

Mall rat

So, Emma's been to the mall 4 times in the last 4 weeks. These pictures were taken March 23 when we went to the Southpark with Mary and Hannah. No matter what Michael says, Emma WILL like to shop... :)
