But that's about to change thanks to:<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpwFghLzkuyY997H_fcZzfpaYvZSBO1u9hYOun2WnTm4yWXCib_j9pDh809lsAKsWSeqfxMbwvlft9wf0rE0Okf6nejpQYsIg5ZZRj3EpFBh5-Fp_NvAnSQ3VbW_C440tk9ObQ/s1600/lists+with+friends+2014+bw+circle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpwFghLzkuyY997H_fcZzfpaYvZSBO1u9hYOun2WnTm4yWXCib_j9pDh809lsAKsWSeqfxMbwvlft9wf0rE0Okf6nejpQYsIg5ZZRj3EpFBh5-Fp_NvAnSQ3VbW_C440tk9ObQ/s1600/lists+with+friends+2014+bw+circle.jpg" height="200" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And now, my first list.<br />
<br />
<b>List #1 </b><b>Emma's Bookshelf</b><br />
(What she's recently read, what's literally on her bookshelf, and what's on her to-read list.) Emma will be 8 next month and she's a fantastic reader. She loves to read and flies through most books. Her go-to books are usually the Rainbow Fairy books, Junie B., Wacky School and the like. I'm trying to get her to branch out, try some different, longer and harder books. So far, so good.<br />
<br />
1. <i>Nancy Clancy Super Sleuth (#1). </i>Fancy Nancy as a detective. She read this pretty quickly and she liked it and immediately asked for the next one.<br />
<br />
2. <i>The One and Only Ivan.</i> She just finished this tonight and she loved it! This is the first big book she's read - bigger in that it took her longer and a half hour to read it as the Rainbow Fairy books do. (Her last Rainbow Fairy book she got at the school library and had it read when she got home just from bus time.) She was very proud of herself for finishing it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTVaJYJcUUC83ph2Q50ShXMbHXYaYxtwQ7q4rKKGZMiU8eOrhxae2oLIM9G8RAeYu0oM14Kg9mXnyin08jHk9x99udNl8d7pVHHR18cuMi0QHlm0HcFV4elsrLfd35L7HaqFT2/s1600/IMG_8309.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTVaJYJcUUC83ph2Q50ShXMbHXYaYxtwQ7q4rKKGZMiU8eOrhxae2oLIM9G8RAeYu0oM14Kg9mXnyin08jHk9x99udNl8d7pVHHR18cuMi0QHlm0HcFV4elsrLfd35L7HaqFT2/s1600/IMG_8309.JPG" height="200" width="150" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
3. <i>The Mouse with the Question Mark Tail.</i><b> </b>This is the book Emma is starting next. It's about a little mouse living in Buckingham Palace.<br />
<br />
4. <i>A Gaggle of Goblins (Unseen World of Poppy Malone Series #1)</i><b>. </b>We actually saw the third book in the series (about mermaids) in the library but because of my You Have To Read Books In The Order They Were Written rule, she got this one instead. She's a little nervous about the goblins and said she doesn't want to read it at night in case it gives her nightmares.<br />
<br />
5. <i>Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.</i><b> </b>Back in November we had Girl Scout Leader/Daughter camping and it was Harry Potter themed. We watched the movie before a few days prior to camping because we didn't have time to read it together before camping. (Another book rule: You Have To Read The Book Before You See The Movie. I broke it for them.) She asked for the book when we got home and thankfully I found it (along with numbers two and three.) She started it, read a few pages and then got distracted by another book. She still wants to read it though. I think it will be a challenge for her and she'll need some help with some words and character names but she can do it.<br />
<br />
6. <i>Geronimo Stilton</i> and <i>Thea Stilton </i>series. She really likes the mix of illustrations and type in the stories. They're easy and fun reads.<br />
<br />
7. <i>Ivy and Bean </i>series.<i> </i>Emma has all the books and has read the first, second and last book. (Clearly, she did not follow my first rule.) They're pretty funny and are full of teachable moments, since Bean is quite the character. I like her better than Junie B. though.<br />
<br />

Okay, so it’s taken me a while to post these, but they’ve been done! I’ve discovered doing two weeks at a time is working well for me. I’ve got a couple things to do to finish up weeks 3 and 4 and have already started on the pictures for weeks 5 and 6.<br />
<br />
<b>Week 1</b><br />

I’m loving the Seafoam kit. It’s made putting the weeks together very easy. I’ve only added other cards a couple times. I’ve been keeping it very simple and it’s coming together much quicker than last year!Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131026086866748205noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22264052.post-82040441704248174942013-01-21T00:09:00.001-05:002013-01-21T00:50:56.090-05:00Project Life freebies<br />
So, I know <a href="http://www.writeclickscrapbook.com/write_click_scrapbook/2013/01/so-hows-the-whole-project-life-thing-going-for-ya.html" target="_blank">I said</a> I was not going to get sucked in to a ton of free printable journaling cards for my 2013 album. And I’m not. Really. But I have come across a few must-have freebies that are too great not to share. <br />
First up, are <a href="http://dontblink.typepad.com/septemberblue/2013/01/project-life-title-page-week-1-big-freebie.html" target="_blank">these weekly circles</a> you can use for your weekly date cards. My plan for this year is to stick with the same basic format for each weekly date card to speed up the process. I’ve finished the first two weeks already but now that I’ve downloaded these, I’m going re-do the date cards using these and continue with them for the year. They’re made to match the Seafoam kit, which I’m using, and are awesome. <br />
<img alt="SeptBlue_WordArtBundle_Preview" height="320" src="http://dontblink.typepad.com/.a/6a010534d2bd17970c017d3fa49948970c-500wi" width="320" /><br />
Source: <a href="http://dontblink.typepad.com/septemberblue/2013/01/project-life-title-page-week-1-big-freebie.html" target="_blank">September Blue blog</a><br />
And then tonight on Pinterest, I saw <a href="http://leslie-miller.blogspot.com/2013/01/friday-freebie.html" target="_blank">these winter filler cards.</a> The temperature this week is going to get down to 13 degrees, and that’s not with the wind chill, so I’m thinking these cards will be a perfect addition to the week.<br />
<img height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5DT4WR3H-_e-me8TzTkn0s9pL5FoW3BlfAab7ZSzabxoHbecs2Daf1iXajDnAgfFcuT6cvkfXqOSgqWw75oqFVJuHxKFCqrf1T6Dy1at4zJ0_b6MaLNytKHImbsuQef5-hmpN/s320/folder.jpg" width="320" /><br />
Source: <a href="http://leslie-miller.blogspot.com/2013/01/friday-freebie.html" target="_blank">Leslie Miller blog</a><br />
<br />
And lastly, <a href="http://angieblomdesigns.blogspot.ca/2013/01/project-life-freebie.html" target="_blank">these tags</a> by Angie Blom. Cute to add to photos or blank journaling cards.<br />
<br />

<br />
And now, it’s time for me to do some printing and cutting. <br />
<br />

<b>I love write.click.scrapbook.</b> I love it for the focus on story telling. (Because to me that's the most important thing.) I love the variety. I love the philosophy. I love that there's no pressure to be caught up, because I never will be. I love that it makes me laugh. I love that it inspires me with layouts and mini albums and photography and journaling. It makes me happy and it reminds me why I love scrapbooking. Thank you, WCS, for letting me be a part of such scrapbooking awesomeness for the last three years!</div>

Today was the last day of Preschool for Mackenzie. She was excited. Although I think a good majority of the excitement was for the party at a classmate's house after.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can see that on the first day she had a fresh hair cut, it was nicely brushed and she let me put in a bow. Today, we barely got it brushed - too many tangles, the girl has crazy bed-head - and she finally consented to a barrette. She was not in the mood for pictures either. The sun was too bright and she didn't want to smile for too many photos. I'm lucky I got this one. But I did get it. Her last day of preschool. One year under her belt. Next year she'll got 3 days a week, with extended day on Monday. Then Kindergarten will be here before I know it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
She made cards for her teachers. We got them gift cards to Dairy Queen (I managed to forget about the need for teacher gifts until last night, so ice cream it is.) and she drew ice cream cones in the one card, then moved on to triangles for the second. Cones without the ice cream?</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You might notice the scribbles. While we were upstairs brushing out the tangles in Mackenzie's hair, Ryan was very quiet. Very, very quiet. When I called out and he didn't answer I knew he was up to no good. And he wasn't. He climbed in the chair, grabbed the markers and started coloring on the cards. I didn't have the heart to tell her because I knew she'd be upset and we didn't have time to re-do them. And I really didn't want to start off her last day with a meltdown. We have enough of them as is. So I hid the cards.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
And then promptly forgot them. Thankfully she didn't notice and I brought them to pick-up. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
She had a good last day though. For show-and-tell she took three mini markers. She said she told them she likes to color with them. I asked if she told them she gets in trouble for leaving the caps off. She just looked at me. Then said yes, although I'm guessing she didn't really. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This year has been good for her, although at times a struggle. She does very well at writing; she's been really in to writing all our names, other words and can write all our letters. She's a smart 4 1/2 year old. But she's not a morning person and mornings could be rough. One thing could go wrong and a meltdown would ensue. She had plenty of days where she cried at drop-off (whether the morning at home went well or not) and I had to wriggle out of her grasp and leave. Of course, she stopped crying within a few minutes and went on to have a great day. She just had a hard time separating from me. She had to work on sharing and playing nice and giving up control but she needed that. Her teachers were so wonderful and patient with her and she's really improved and grown. She had so much fun learning and doing all the crafts and of course loved snack time. And she likes the new friends she has made. And this is new to her, to have friends that are separate from Emma.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Today she brought home her name magnet, hang tag for her coat and her get-to-know-me photo apple. And with that her school year is over. </div>

My friend Marie's sister Katherine has written a book. A book I've heard is absolutely fabulous and is on my to-read list. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU3vezq-CkmNGB0ylHiSF5B3fZbzhXza3oLmJUjGLuSiLMiVSDCxod1jIQBbb1lmHnCqbrf4iXNKCLlHwnNy5eErCdl_NW4XzVPKVaMKCSJEbY75oQk6VSGYRR9wF9xuuZVrBv/s1600/Any+Day+beautiful+100clr%5B2%5D%5B1%5D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU3vezq-CkmNGB0ylHiSF5B3fZbzhXza3oLmJUjGLuSiLMiVSDCxod1jIQBbb1lmHnCqbrf4iXNKCLlHwnNy5eErCdl_NW4XzVPKVaMKCSJEbY75oQk6VSGYRR9wF9xuuZVrBv/s320/Any+Day+beautiful+100clr%5B2%5D%5B1%5D.jpeg" width="207" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
May is all about celebrating this wonderful book. You can read about Any May a Beautiful Change <a href="http://kewp.blogspot.com/2012/05/any-may-beautiful-change.html" target="_blank">here on Katherine's blog.</a> There are also links to many others sharing their stories about a Beautiful Change.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For me, the beautiful change in my life was becoming a stay-at-home-mom. It's something I never thought I wanted. I knew I wanted kids and I was excited to become a mother one day. But it wasn't until I met Michael and we started discussing having children one day that I realized I wanted to stay home with them. I thought for sure I would be a career woman. I was in college long enough, I had to work to make that degree worth it, right? But no. The next work day after I found out I was pregnant I told my boss (who was also my friend) that I was putting in my nine-month notice.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>I love staying home with my kids. </b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I can't say it enough. For me, it's the perfect choice. I get to spend every day with them. I see every milestone occur. I get to experience all the things they learn right along with them. I get to have pajama days where we snuggle in the chair and watch cartoons. I get to color and craft and do puzzles with them. I'm able to teach them and watch them learn. I get to help in their classrooms and attend their school parties. I get to eat breakfast and lunch with them. I get to take them with me everywhere I go - errands, to the gym, the library, to visit friends and out to lunch. I can grab a hug and a kiss whenever I want. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Now that's not to say there aren't times when I need a break. I'd be lying if I said every moment was joyous and every day runs smoothly. They aren't and it doesn't. But that's okay. I'll take the bad with the good and embrace it. Because before I know it all three will be in school and my time with them will become limited and I'll be wishing they were there to drive me crazy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So I'll take the temper tantrums and crushed Kix and underwear left all over the house (I have no idea how this happens) and messes and frustrations and whining and the constant calling of my name.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I'll take it all and I will treasure it and try to remember every little detail and embrace it. Embrace them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is what I'm meant to do. Be a mom. Be home with my kids. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b><br /></b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<b>I wouldn't trade it for a thing.</b></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

But with Kindergarten comes softball. She’s had two practices a week (one for 1 hour and the other 1.5 hours) until her first game this past Saturday. Now the practices are over and it’s just games. Which thankfully have a time limit. </p> <p>Emma got a hit her first at-bat, albeit not the prettiest one. </p> <p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix932KNHNasFrFVp8nQsP1P-rxZYjjFdNuF6HPJWQjflhDpwqqfIvJ4cMY6EmvR4LYW_74sBY6uvo2STFhyAVpSQnXsChaifqFxp5LDDL2LSD9wPIn6LWoFOrWa8mtAreteeuy/s1600-h/emma%252520first%252520at-bat%252520series_edited-1%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; margin: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="emma first at-bat series_edited-1" border="0" alt="emma first at-bat series_edited-1" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-i2LFsbmxPC80IS5H655q1tctciH89yWsJLIBrhgs2tgRIchhoi85e1BQruut017KlZF_VH8wH7J58s84RSwlAuc9xIjLM4OHmcYaqMpuhl_gq1wnuhMFBmoSsFLlTEqswTIx/?imgmax=800" width="124" height="244"></a></p> <p>It was cold though. As in 40 degrees cold. There were snowflakes as the game ended. Emma was frozen. In fact, as I was trying to get a picture of her at her first game, she was yelling at me to take her to the car. In fact, I’m pretty sure I capture the word “car” right here. </p> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3JVqH4f7qIicGrgIX2BaHR4f6VQstFN_QzY71a_IgusmTDeG2tjZrYKKzTMa7HfkJFOjUgAgC7OMNlKBMKH6Av6x4Xn44FgwPdJeG6cySUa7u13GRKHTmFGFghe9whLw7a2Wa/s1600-h/emma%252520after%252520game%25255B2%25255D.jpg"><img style="background-image: none; border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; padding-left: 0px; padding-right: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px; padding-top: 0px" title="emma after game" border="0" alt="emma after game" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOpv_3jrHWkxyylUllo7aW4sEtgK7JilCH2Oe2c_26y7BSg9eW9o6ZaPl2L88pF3nyHayMQImic3R23Qdki3Ru0-2PImyFdlsQlrN46oyahJRrSfkgEXnJFkSDm57Bsm0iMfLc/?imgmax=800" width="164" height="244"></a> <p>Her second game is tomorrow and it’s supposed to be in the 80’s. At she can’t say she’s cold! And maybe she’ll even pose for a picture or two.</p> Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131026086866748205noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22264052.post-38730000266370644902012-04-30T23:41:00.000-04:002012-04-30T23:41:40.531-04:00Project Life Monday<br />

And with that, I’m officially back to blogging.Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131026086866748205noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22264052.post-11418288388915921782012-01-04T21:02:00.007-05:002012-05-04T00:38:38.213-04:00Twelve in '12So, obviously it's been a couple months since I've blogged. But I'm back (at least for today!) with my resolutions for 2012. <div><br /></div><div>Here are twelve things I want to accomplish in 2012.</div><div><br /></div><div>1. <b>Run 500 miles</b>. This is my friend Melissa's challenge. I strongly dislike running and I'm hoping this makes me at least hate it less.</div><div><br /></div><div>2. <b>Run a 5K</b>. I ran the 3.5 mile leg of the Akron Marathon Relay back in September, but I'd like to do an actual 5K.</div><div><br /></div><div>3. <b>Write down the 52 books I'll read in 2012.</b> I'm fairly certain I read at least 52 books last year. Our library has a 52 Books challenge, but I could never remember to enter them online. </div><div><br /></div><div>4. <b>Learn to use my camera.</b> Right now I pretty much keep it on P, but I'd like to learn more. No, I <i>need</i> to learn more. I need to get the most out of my camera, and take the best pictures I can take.</div><div><br /></div><div>5. <b>52 Projects with my girls.</b> I'm planning on doing one project a week with my girls, and creating a mini-album documenting them. These might be cooking, baking, crafting, an outdoor adventure, or something else I haven't thought of yet. So much of my time is spent with Ryan that this will be a fun way to spend more time with them. </div><div><br /></div><div>6. <b>Project Life.</b> SO excited to start this!</div><div><br /></div><div>7. <b>Take my videos from over the years and turn them in to movies.</b> Must learn video editing.</div><div><br /></div><div>8. <b>Control the clutter.</b> I'm a pack rat. Enough said.</div><div><br /></div><div>9. <b>Monthly family photos.</b> I want to take one the 12th of each month.</div><div><br /></div><div>10. <b>Read the New Testament/spend time each day reading and studying my Bible. </b>I have quite a few books I want to read, a couple which are Bible studies, that have been sitting on my nightstands as well. Must finish <a href="http://crazylovebook.com/">Crazy Love</a>.<br /></div><div><br /></div><div>11. <b>Six dates with my husband. </b>We don't do this enough. Like never.</div><div><br /></div><div>12. <b>A</b> <b>Month of Thank Yous. </b>My Bible study is doing a month of thank yous in January where we write a note each day thanking someone for something they've done or the impact they've made in our lives. This was inspired by the book <a href="http://www.amazon.com/365-Thank-Yous-Gratitude-Changed/dp/1401324053">365 Thank yous</a> and I'm really looking forward to this. There are so many people who impact our lives and I want to acknowledge and thank them. So far I've written notes to my husband, my mom and my high school keyboarding teacher, Mrs. Arndt, who taught me how to type. </div><div><br /></div><div>Happy 2012!</div>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131026086866748205noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22264052.post-69493399904514604322011-09-11T23:11:00.002-04:002012-05-04T00:38:56.037-04:00Emma's first day of KindergartenEmma started Kindergarten last month, her first day was August 18<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">th</span>. They split the Kindergarten classes in to thirds (there are 12 classes) with each 1/3 going on one of three days - the 17<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">th</span>, 18<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">th</span> or 19<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">th</span>. I took Emma to school that day at 9, and she rode the bus home that afternoon. She was so excited to go. she woke up before 7 asking if it was time for school yet.<br /><br />She'd seen this pink dress in the Gap the day before when we went to get her back-to-school haircut. She told me if she could, she would wear her on her first day. So of course I ran out that afternoon and picked it up as a surprise. She was so surprised and thanked me over and over.<br /><br />I took a lot of pictures. I had to. <br />@ 11 months, Ryan is adorable. Of course. Crawls fast. Very, very fast. Pretty much wants to just go up and down the stairs all day long. He stands and can bend down and pick something up without falling but so far doesn't try to walk on his own. He will walk with the push-walker though. He discovered he can throw and therefore does so repeatedly. He loves food. Really. You wouldn't believe how much this kid eats. Still taking a bottle, but I'm reducing the amount in the anticipation of being formula-free in less than a month. We call him Grabby-Grabby. He takes everything.
<br />
<br /><strong>10 months</strong>. 7/19/11 @ what used to be Jellystone Campground. Michael and the girls were in the lake and Ryan and I hung out in the shade. No sand for us, as he would've most certainly eaten it.

Something we'd been encouraging her to do all summer since we knew she could swim the distance required to do it. But she wouldn't. Then Monday, there were a lot of friends there, friends who were telling her she could do it and that she was a great swimmer, and apparently she just needed to hear this from them instead of us, because she did it. <br /><br />Well, if Emma was doing it, Mackenzie wanted to do it too. She needed some practice though. So Michael worked with her, having her jump in off the side and then swim to the end to make sure she could swim far enough to get to the ladder. Once she could, it was her turn to go. This is one determined 3 1/2 year old we have!<br /><br /><br /><br /><div><embed src="http://www.onetruemedia.com/share_view_player?p=ed762dc6406e5509059210" quality="high" scale="noscale" width="408" height="382" wmode="transparent" name="FLVPlayer" salign="LT" flashvars="&p=ed762dc6406e5509059210&skin_id=701&host=http://www.onetruemedia.com" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed><div style="margin:0px;font:12px/13px verdana,arial,sans-serif;line-height:20px;padding-bottom:15px;width:408px;text-align:center;"><a href="http://www.onetruemedia.com/landing?&utm_source=emplay&utm_medium=txt5" target="_blank" style="text-decoration:none;">Make a video - it's fun, easy and free!<br/><span style="text-decoration:underline;">www.onetruemedia.com</span></a></div></div>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131026086866748205noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22264052.post-15591514650780229322011-06-14T23:58:00.006-04:002011-06-16T23:27:18.529-04:00And in the fall she'll be a Kindergartener.Emma graduated preschool last month, May 23rd to be exact. We had additional excitement in the form of the tornado sirens going off forcing us all in to the hallway to wait it out shortly before Emma's name was to be called. The kids didn't mind though, it gave them time to burn off some energy since they'd been sitting in the church for so long. The program was cute. They marched in wearing their felt graduation caps, sang some songs (or just looked around at everyone and everything) and then received their diplomas.<br /><br />Our graduate.<br /><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXy7FQnP7HitcfRN-p1vTzZcuI-lMSbdHrJHmXzaHdnyGTxjYktljbjb84UFhCzQov0a-dyb8VeYppNFY9qwFmWE2i5piV85mUpACdNL6hyphenhyphen9b9SR4W8xtJKHnnWBE4-AoseNYT/s1600/IMG_3644-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXy7FQnP7HitcfRN-p1vTzZcuI-lMSbdHrJHmXzaHdnyGTxjYktljbjb84UFhCzQov0a-dyb8VeYppNFY9qwFmWE2i5piV85mUpACdNL6hyphenhyphen9b9SR4W8xtJKHnnWBE4-AoseNYT/s320/IMG_3644-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJZQpVcjzqdRJhWdC7k1vpdoe9FzyEwctN2fbWK1RAdLsSRfcz3AkqydhfenwomsjzwYAoY20CY5M_6fyJffegrrywTJDy8Nj6aRrrgWjmAFqDOxLWWBRm8ySxfvsTzeYDii4I/s1600/IMG_3628-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJZQpVcjzqdRJhWdC7k1vpdoe9FzyEwctN2fbWK1RAdLsSRfcz3AkqydhfenwomsjzwYAoY20CY5M_6fyJffegrrywTJDy8Nj6aRrrgWjmAFqDOxLWWBRm8ySxfvsTzeYDii4I/s320/IMG_3628-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK_K3fiNMyyBE2e_9wtYhCjPMGasOXrUXaXg0jihn81VNd2M7LD7oYFtVjcOZ2BgZUEM_EQ071KYdoeEYI6TWD-ohElUAWkW495ItzACi1heeDW_tw6kANBa_k-TF8Ij2qxi13/s1600/IMG_3636-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgK_K3fiNMyyBE2e_9wtYhCjPMGasOXrUXaXg0jihn81VNd2M7LD7oYFtVjcOZ2BgZUEM_EQ071KYdoeEYI6TWD-ohElUAWkW495ItzACi1heeDW_tw6kANBa_k-TF8Ij2qxi13/s320/IMG_3636-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />I'd meant to get a family picture at the church/school, but forgot. And she just looks so much older.<br /><br />First day of school (9/12/10) and now, 9 months later (6/15/11)<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4CkNRwJHUQPNtq5cUuoER9mhs5euSaEkSNi_mjJRRJuhmnB_e2IuWRTTrwHLvBMu8iRvA5jAZCSqCOstJrnUKXpo08qsUxth396jgBfaYPQ54v_VoKDlFSJVz9WiTuELzGBFL/s1600/IMG_2543-3.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4CkNRwJHUQPNtq5cUuoER9mhs5euSaEkSNi_mjJRRJuhmnB_e2IuWRTTrwHLvBMu8iRvA5jAZCSqCOstJrnUKXpo08qsUxth396jgBfaYPQ54v_VoKDlFSJVz9WiTuELzGBFL/s320/IMG_2543-3.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyWkPPjWZWggtggtfLP596ujBNTFr0yW8MyiIYLiAI1XdYCi5xZkqFwudjWMYP5NDIBmn3WTQTuyPEC-V9VMA_qWzhFOCwcZuLq6C1Ece71J12cBoBMyWsx-ibrWWRwJwKAAD1/s1600/IMG_4647-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyWkPPjWZWggtggtfLP596ujBNTFr0yW8MyiIYLiAI1XdYCi5xZkqFwudjWMYP5NDIBmn3WTQTuyPEC-V9VMA_qWzhFOCwcZuLq6C1Ece71J12cBoBMyWsx-ibrWWRwJwKAAD1/s320/IMG_4647-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><div style="CLEAR: both"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: 0% 50%; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial" alt="Posted by Picasa" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" align="middle" border="0" /></a></div><br /><br /><br /><div style="CLEAR: both"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: 0% 50%; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial" alt="Posted by Picasa" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" align="middle" border="0" /></a></div>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131026086866748205noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22264052.post-86263384324759944452011-06-10T22:20:00.004-04:002011-06-13T00:00:03.229-04:00Warrior Dash 2011Last Sunday I ran the Warrior Dash with three of my friends/boot camp girls. <em><br /></em><br />We started our nice and clean in our fringed and beaded cammo shirts, courtesy of Michelle. Not June though. So far this week:<br /><br />1. Summer haircuts. Emma's been asking for a while to get her hair cut. Mackenzie chimed in today that she'd like hers cut too. So this afternoon we went to Snippets where the girls walked in like this,<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhllPOdMLYfpWtETispfbiYt4fkb-U6XEM7NSzr6NVqYvgTjbHyZhXe6LJC_BJjhA0664AoRhVNa67Z0WsD5jDMp_SKtcmTo13OqYvYpwYVB4R_fEmEd2WnV0l9_tIHuYgKuzeP/s1600/IMG_1452-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhllPOdMLYfpWtETispfbiYt4fkb-U6XEM7NSzr6NVqYvgTjbHyZhXe6LJC_BJjhA0664AoRhVNa67Z0WsD5jDMp_SKtcmTo13OqYvYpwYVB4R_fEmEd2WnV0l9_tIHuYgKuzeP/s320/IMG_1452-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />And out like this.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_LgisPT3O1HXJv5HBVOtEgfp6Rp2oyDKy0XaqkdD6jNkfKqzOgGs00Qxv5ViM2H-V9fE-cQIZ3h7dhM1IDDWQ0VRXDZrsPuvELgbYO_COtDedCRDKyKlyMyblARBO1jglh4dB/s1600/IMG_1456-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_LgisPT3O1HXJv5HBVOtEgfp6Rp2oyDKy0XaqkdD6jNkfKqzOgGs00Qxv5ViM2H-V9fE-cQIZ3h7dhM1IDDWQ0VRXDZrsPuvELgbYO_COtDedCRDKyKlyMyblARBO1jglh4dB/s320/IMG_1456-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivFMPFPJYMPT54nsEpS7SONVnvuf_lhyphenhyphenyhFgMNLe6L5Zsaft404YbIpQ_HnGFYMIZ3vvqGv2gW3fz1WhywfbN5rBDDr8ce7aNq_d1euP_qBLUQ6htsx4_TyWlXuO0NPItvp-X0/s1600/IMG_1457-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivFMPFPJYMPT54nsEpS7SONVnvuf_lhyphenhyphenyhFgMNLe6L5Zsaft404YbIpQ_HnGFYMIZ3vvqGv2gW3fz1WhywfbN5rBDDr8ce7aNq_d1euP_qBLUQ6htsx4_TyWlXuO0NPItvp-X0/s320/IMG_1457-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Emma wanted it to her shoulders, that's what she kept saying over and over. Mackenzie just wanted it short. And then shorter. I asked her at least 10 times, are you sure? I kept explaining that once she cut it this short there would be no more ponytails or braids (which she's been very in to lately) but she said she knew. In fact, her words were, "it's okay Mommy. I don't need a pony." She handled it much better than I did. I went between the two stations with my heart pounding and my hands shaking. Mackenzie's only had her hair trimmed three times and Emma's hasn't been this short since, well, ever. We've, or I rather, have always just let it grow. But it's their hair. It's summer. Time to try it and go short. And they love it. Emma's will be easier to brush and Mackenzie's will make for much easier mornings since she won't be crying every time I brush/style it. Plus, it's really, really cute.<br /><br />2. Today was Mackenzie's Little Gym program.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXwmWSoIsjPCSMAiHA8sJ5erVi638TiKi2aNgbEWar5EDSNmMCbFyaXoEPENCDd_R6N-Km7TTOgjz46nmsYMuj25Uffl-TP38cXu7tykKIpApEkCaDvRRb3NNb89xUev7T_tIp/s1600/IMG_4519-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXwmWSoIsjPCSMAiHA8sJ5erVi638TiKi2aNgbEWar5EDSNmMCbFyaXoEPENCDd_R6N-Km7TTOgjz46nmsYMuj25Uffl-TP38cXu7tykKIpApEkCaDvRRb3NNb89xUev7T_tIp/s320/IMG_4519-1.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />3. First things first - a family picture. Since it was raining, we took it on the porch swing. I love this swing and if we ever move to a house with a porch we will have a swing just like it.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDEtTNz7QWFWcZVkH2RijGSWWJZPhdCoNrgBgSMzlxAR7owmwo-cepbVDmGIP_qNmW_jwnn2nyuLdOJW3v3FemyXYPbsIy1vCoEsrSktTfgN7-lXwqdMl0shCFej0Rw9p3WUyA/s1600/IMG_2194-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDEtTNz7QWFWcZVkH2RijGSWWJZPhdCoNrgBgSMzlxAR7owmwo-cepbVDmGIP_qNmW_jwnn2nyuLdOJW3v3FemyXYPbsIy1vCoEsrSktTfgN7-lXwqdMl0shCFej0Rw9p3WUyA/s320/IMG_2194-1.JPG" border="0" /></a> <br /><br />My favorite part of the pictures we took.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJvFcykGg5xC3jgm3bUHzKpIOiq7auBDyrfKa_oc5Jc0T4agdAkDzePZU4oKO1MG32HBMMHGgkxjCCZUCVTkDHMIh0IGNszLk-V6vCSADTp0uk0jdtJMGnQDinrYjnHF9EzWE8/s1600/IMG_2188-1.JPG"><img alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJvFcykGg5xC3jgm3bUHzKpIOiq7auBDyrfKa_oc5Jc0T4agdAkDzePZU4oKO1MG32HBMMHGgkxjCCZUCVTkDHMIh0IGNszLk-V6vCSADTp0uk0jdtJMGnQDinrYjnHF9EzWE8/s320/IMG_2188-1.JPG" border="0" /></a> <br /><br />Then it was time to open Easter baskets from Grandma and a Easter bag from Aunt Tara. They were pretty much bursting with excitement to do this, which is probably why they were so willing to sit for photos. They knew what was coming next - baskets filled with candy.<br /><br />After we ate, mom and I hid eggs for the girls to find. I love watching them look for eggs. And there's something about Emma he finds funny. Sometimes he just looks at her and lets out a belly laugh. She had him giggling like crazy the other night. He was the cutest thing. Oh no. This usually occurs between 3 and 6 am. I find myself in there up to a half dozen times rolling him onto his back because he's gotten stuck. Sometimes with a leg sticking out the crib. Two nights ago he was stuck on his belly with his head pointed diagonally in the corner. Poor guy, he had no where to go. I will say this though, it does get annoying when on your third trip in there, you roll him over, give him his <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-error">binky</span>, tell him to stay put - only to have him immediately roll back on to his stomach! Twice now he's given up and just slept on his belly, but for the most part he's not a fan of that yet. It amazes me though how a baby who can't yet crawl can get in to every square inch of that crib. In the dark. I wish I could film him one night just to see what he does when he's sleeping/supposed to be sleeping.<br /><br />He likes the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">jumperoo</span>.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcPWyZqqzqntOYNEUsDFxTVx0DNJaP3MQYTmoKIKMcpHusFP0gAjQ8Q6wC_s30V5riU8RqOBV0Fs8o4Ih3b7RNrrZBIPh1yxXJqk7Jq8SHR6CBn_SamLfBOTraSwbrWL0TTTPY/s1600/IMG_0658-1.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcPWyZqqzqntOYNEUsDFxTVx0DNJaP3MQYTmoKIKMcpHusFP0gAjQ8Q6wC_s30V5riU8RqOBV0Fs8o4Ih3b7RNrrZBIPh1yxXJqk7Jq8SHR6CBn_SamLfBOTraSwbrWL0TTTPY/s320/IMG_0658-1.JPG" /></a><br /><br />And the star on the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">exersaucer</span>.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgohk4fNFA4BdgThMdUazrF3vxG7M5MTCI8bdp7Qi0074-gZi1H1Ow0GbOReTGQapvLn7Cijof4wwGtAugRoafJoWVOCxlQyPz3LZBIB6rJbqW-uTpdtYuTwgQtQ7EG8ryATdQv/s1600/IMG_0712.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgohk4fNFA4BdgThMdUazrF3vxG7M5MTCI8bdp7Qi0074-gZi1H1Ow0GbOReTGQapvLn7Cijof4wwGtAugRoafJoWVOCxlQyPz3LZBIB6rJbqW-uTpdtYuTwgQtQ7EG8ryATdQv/s320/IMG_0712.JPG" /></a><br /><br />He's all about putting things in his mouth. His hands are constantly in his mouth and it's like a faucet turned on with the amount of drool he has.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiblz2wbM1enCXpnvPGxhuz-6oQZYJwyrhzzi1d-_M7e01RT1_rMSUpTcbEwzzs3ILSdwntbNcZmOSa8dbqPMzb_K1q76c8DA_S5AAoajNI4pS_L1v_FCgLB0fe6QvoT-nWRW45/s1600/IMG_0187-1.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiblz2wbM1enCXpnvPGxhuz-6oQZYJwyrhzzi1d-_M7e01RT1_rMSUpTcbEwzzs3ILSdwntbNcZmOSa8dbqPMzb_K1q76c8DA_S5AAoajNI4pS_L1v_FCgLB0fe6QvoT-nWRW45/s320/IMG_0187-1.JPG" /></a><br /><br />He's tried all the stage one foods now. He loves to eat. He gets very excited when he sees the container, the spoon and the bottle. He tried a <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">sippy</span> cup just to see what would happen, but no success. He just got frustrated. We'll try again in a couple weeks. He's still drinking 32oz of formula a day.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyiESb6WnWCY6vHw23etvyCu_o5rVf6kpy8JNxtnsi268-hPl2zNxWq2jiwUJPC5wrZhPRC2ZIFdpm8frzwZZEi6Fc1xyXcoV69xlgyRCF-m7qpPvY33u5psB_S4DHdaFdUnIv/s1600/IMG_9904.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyiESb6WnWCY6vHw23etvyCu_o5rVf6kpy8JNxtnsi268-hPl2zNxWq2jiwUJPC5wrZhPRC2ZIFdpm8frzwZZEi6Fc1xyXcoV69xlgyRCF-m7qpPvY33u5psB_S4DHdaFdUnIv/s320/IMG_9904.JPG" /></a><br /><br />He had his six month well visit. He's 15lbs 3oz, 10-25% (up almost 3 lbs) and 25 3/4 inches, 25-50% (up 2 1/2 inches and up from the 3-10%). Our pediatrician said he's made noticeable improvements with the head tilt. Ryan doesn't have to have physical therapy, but we do have to continue stretching his neck. There's also some improvement with the flat spot/forehead/small eye issue, but that will continue to get better as he does more tummy time and starts to sit up. It'll take a while for that to correct itself.<br /><br />This picture makes me laugh. This is the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_7" class="blsp-spelling-error">exersaucer</span> at the gym. He's so tiny in it, but he loves watching all the other kids at Kid Park.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYx8hGHDMVIYdXhYenVnNq-AwKnGzRIhbU-gy1MBQuEcOU2eR1wHGKs7PO2upJ-U84YpFqptqFLvLZ_v6zFMS1bG0mqsM6asYpC7tqut_1wbuV2KVjzoVntJfgGQFPDPrIv5pt/s1600/IMG_0849-1.JPG"><img border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYx8hGHDMVIYdXhYenVnNq-AwKnGzRIhbU-gy1MBQuEcOU2eR1wHGKs7PO2upJ-U84YpFqptqFLvLZ_v6zFMS1bG0mqsM6asYpC7tqut_1wbuV2KVjzoVntJfgGQFPDPrIv5pt/s320/IMG_0849-1.JPG" /></a></p><p>He's in size 2 diapers and fits well in to his 3-6 month clothes, but with room to grow. According to the tags on the Carters clothes, he should be in 9 month outfits. I don't see that happening quite yet. He has some summer outfits from <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_8" class="blsp-spelling-error">Gymboree</span> that are 6-12 months and even though according to the tag he fits in them for height (starts at 25 inches) and is only 1 1/2 lbs away from them in weight, he's really no where close. the shorts come down to his ankles. And I think two of him could fit in the shirts. He's gonna need one heck of a growth spurt between now and June!</p><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrRs1m_3deli-1MYhCr0UxnPFf1PaiRxEL4Mro8e1Nh6PM8ujUUiQcabixOMNUDWuRENauHssXvvv0V1cTdmmBnoPTNg1etl_GPLfBXatMtTiWn_jgEuexLTVveJEri-vs07jz/s1600/IMG_0950.JPG"></a><br /><br /><div style="CLEAR: both"><a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img style="BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BACKGROUND: 0% 50%; BORDER-TOP: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial" border="0" alt="Posted by Picasa" align="middle" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" /></a></div>Erinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16131026086866748205noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22264052.post-19684424364576658302011-03-22T22:43:00.002-04:002011-03-22T22:51:30.914-04:00Ten on Tuesday1.
