Look who's 6 weeks old!
So, it was a busy day for Emma Wednesday. As of yesterday, she's 6 weeks old. Can't believe how fast it's gone. First, we went to see Michael at school yesterday because he'd left his grade book at home. That meant I had to take a picture of them in his clasroom.
Then, it was time to take pictures of Emma. And some of me holding Emma as well. :)
After that we stopped to see Dana at work, went to Michael's baseball game, then Stacey came over for a visit. Whew! It's tough being 6 weeks old!

Yesterday and Today
Took a few cute pictures yesterday and today...
This is Emma on the changing table after waking up yesterday morning. For some reason, she really likes both her changing tables. If we could, we'd leave her on there for a couple hours! :)
And later, napping in my arms, one of my favorite things.
Today, more cute sleeping pictures. Who knew a sleeping baby could be so adorable!

Celebrating her Grandmas' birthdays
Both my Mom and Michael's Mom have birthdays this month. Grandma Sweeney's birthday is St. Patrick's Day. We went to their house for pizza and ice cream that night. She helped blow out the candles of course. Here's Emma with Grandma Sweeney:
Grandma McIntyre's brithday is March 21st, but celebrated it by going out to dinner on the 19th. Here is Emma with Grandma McIntyre:
And I think that's enough posts for today, I should be caught up soon...I hope!

Her one month picture
So, I had wanted to get professional pictures done when she turned one month old. But..that didn't happen. Sort of like the announcements I didn't get done, or the thank you cards waiting to be written. But, we still have one-month pictures, courtesy of my black felt from JoAnn's. Here she is on March 15th, in her cute little Gap dress (Thanks Tara!)
Her one-month checkup and eating dinner with Dad
Monday (3/20) Emma had her one-month checkup. I couldn't believe it when the nurse said she weighed 9 lbs, 12 oz and was 22 inches long. Apparantly, my fear she wasn't eating enough had no merit. She's growing like a weed! She's already grown out of a few sleepers, her legs are too long! She also got a shot, which actually didn't bother me too much. I didn't realize a baby's face could get that red that fast though! The Doctor said the acne would go away on it's own, hopefully soon. It makes me very sad to see it. He also said she could have heartburn and that could be why she doesn't like to sleep on her back at night so he told me to give her Mylanta. She seems to enjoy it. She also enjoyed the infant Tylenol I gave her after her shot. She was licking her lips, her fingers - Cherry flavor is good! That afternoon I took these pictures of her sleeping on her playmat (Notice her arms up over her head!) I was surprised she slept there as long as she did. I guess the Mylanta helped.
About the sleeping issues, Emma had been sleeping with me at night in the recliner. She refused to sleep alone at night, hadn't slept in her crib since a couple days after we brought her home. Sunday night, Michael decided to try putting her in her bouncy seat in the crib and it worked! She slept all night in there and has each night since. When I told the doctor this at her checkup, he brought up the heartburn. So for now, the bouncy seat stays in the crib, and I get to sleep in my bed!
At dinner
So how cute is Emma sitting with Michael at the table? He tried to get her to hold a fork over a plate like she was ready to eat, but that wasn't happening! She did sit nicely for a few minutes though. Then when it was time for us to eat, she started to fuss.

Emma's first basketball game
Saturday the 11th was the Faculty vs. Student basketball game. It's a fundraiser for Michael's baseball team. This was Emma's first trip to the high school and first basketball game. Of course she slept through the entire game and woke up right at the end, so really, she didn't see Daddy play.
She woke up right at the end. And not long after this picture was taken, she started to cry. As you can see in the picture of her with us!
She also got to meet her Uncle Marc, Aunt Patti and cousins Rachel and Ben. Of course she slept through a lot of that too!

Time for a walk
Saturday we took Emma for a walk, it was nice enough outside. She slept the entire time of course. And it was not a smooth walk either! We also were able to introduce her to our neighbors, since they were outside. I took her for another walk yesterday, and she stayed awake almost the entire time. Which meant she woke up as soon as we got home. On Saturday, she slept for a couple hours after the walk, I just didn't have that luck!

Let's all praise the inventor of the swing!
It's a life saver for sure. She'll sleep in there for hours at a time. This morning, she slept in her swing from a little after 6 until after 9. When I woke up, she was in her swing happy as can be. I took these pictures on Tuesday 3/7. Notice the different outfits - that girl goes through clothes like crazy!

Arms up!
Emma is pretty funny when she sleeps. Rarely does she sleep with her arms down by her side. Sometimes there's hand in her face. Other times, she sleeps when her hands on her chest, hands touching. And then there's the "arms up" pose. The first was taken 2-28 and the second on 3/4. I guess she's really comfortable!
Daddy's little boy??
Notice the outfit Emma has on? I got Michael that outfit when I found out I was pregnant. Saturday was Emma's first time wearing it. Yep, she looks like a boy. At least when we took her to Dick's and Kohls that night she had a pink hat and blanket on!
